Thank you for your review of Gnucash. As one of the people currently
hacking on Gnucash, it is gratifying to see the work that's been put
in get some attention.

A quick point - the problem with the reporting code is a trivial one -
a patch has already been developed and will make it into 1.2.6,
hopefully within a matter of days.

However, the Motif code that you have reviewed is not the state of
current development. The GNOME code has progressed a long way
recently, and is now to the point where a 1.3 gnome-based development
release is just a matter of organisation. The latest code already
contains many new features and improvements, and will get some
more in the near future.

We would very much like the opportunity to show you the new code
to demonstrate to you and your readers that we are making real
progress. Would it be at all possible to hold your review over (from
the main weekly bulletin) until then?

If you do decide to do so, please contact me so that we can send
you the latest development patch (which is unfortunately
not in CVS yet).

Thanks again for your interest, and hopefully your review will attract
interest from both users and developers.

Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober,
responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and
immature.
