Do this:
cd /usr
find . -print |grep prefs.scm
this should hopefully tell you where prefs.scm is. Copy it from there to
/usr/local/app/gnucash/share/scm
Do the same for the other files in the error messages.

the right thing to do in the long run is for us to post a suse-specific rpm
