One possibility here is lesstif. There is a problem with GnuCash and
current versions of lesstif. You might try installing lesstif-0.88.1.
Also, if you want to compile GnuCash from source, there is a patch
to fix this.

This could also be a problem with the Mac version using a slightly
different qif format. If the above fix doesn't work, we can look
at that possibility.
