All I can place is that there's something wrong with the option
generator, or perhaps in the way it is invoked. If the P&L option
generator is changed to #f, all works fine.
I'm afraid I don't yet understand the option generator; what is
crashing is the invocation of the option generator.
This is *not* a "Scheme stupidity;" it strikes me more as a lack in
the documentation of how options work...
