configure script problems

I've been installing gnuCash from rpms.  No that I'm planning on
developing,
I'm faced with the reality of never having developed for *nix
environments.

In short, I'm having trouble with the configure script. I get the
message:
  warning: Cannotfind libgtkxmhtml -- gnome build disabled ( not
required for motif )
I have found libgtkxmhtml.so.1.0.1 and a sym link libgtkxmhtml.so in
/usr/lib.

What's wrong?
