Hello, I'm making the first experiences using GnuCash and I find it really very good. There is nevertheless a feature which I will surely miss in the future and it is filing. I think it would be nice if one could put all transaction with date before a certain time in a separate file, say *.arch for example. So I could put all 1999 transactions in 1999.arch, the 2000 transaction in 2000.arch and so on. It should also be possible to temporary concatenate two or more consecutive archives files, for example if I need a report regarding the period 6/1/1999-5/31/2000. The format of this sort of files could be similar to the original one, but it should also contain information about the boundary filing dates to prevent for instance from concatenating 1998.arch with 2000.arch. I think this feature should be useful also to keep clean the account structure: if for example I don't need an account bycicle in assets any more , because I sold the bycicle last year and I don't have another, I could delete this account whithout generating unbalanced transactions. Any idea about this?
