Right, I know that, but I'm talking about the *action* field in the
register (the one just before the memo field when you're in
non-single-line mode). In bank accounts it allows you to indicate
something about the type of the transaction like
ATM
AutoDep
Check
Credit
POS
Int
etc. and in stock registers it has an entry called "Split". This has
nothing to do with the idea of a split transaction. It seems to me
that this "Split" action is what you'd want to use to indicate split
transactions, but I'm not sure it actually does anything.

Right, that's what I'm investigating. I'll have a better picture
after I talk to Linas and check in to the engine. I'm not strongly
familiar with the stock account mechanics in there yet since until now
I hadn't tried to use it, so I hadn't investigated.
