It was redone a while back by Christopher Browne and myself as part
of collecting a lot of report functionality into report-utilites.
I just noticed the 'min' and 'max' columns are swapped, but other
than that I don't see problems. What does it not do that it used to?

Are the values wrong? The report actually runs much faster than it
did before by using better scheme code.

cvs update -D "some date" average-balance.scm
