The only straightforward fix would be to add a "transaction" memo
field in addition to the split memo field, but this would then require
migrating the ledger away from the single-line mode. I'm not sure
what we should do, but I've really wanted transaction memos myself.
This gets me to thinking again about a related set of display and
storage problems we've got right now that I want to bring up for
discussion. Let me gather my thoughts and I'll post a summary...
