Transactions with the same date are displayed in the order you enter
them, unless they have a non-blank 'Num' entry, in which case they are
sorted with that.

But not all banks do. My bank's statement has deposits in a completely
separate section, after the withdrawals. In general, different banks use
different orders. You can change the default sorting order, but right now
there are only a few choices and the balances still reflect the GnuCash
'canonical' ordering. I hope to make this more flexible in the future.

Sorry, but given that it's being released tomorrow, it's not
