Dave,

The whole point is that the Mandrake 7.0 distribution includes a later
(incompatible) version, and I was _UNABLE_ to find the supposedly
_COMPATIBLE_ version of guile.  Capiche?  I DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE.

If you are going to lock your package into particular versions of libraries,
then you should at least assure that there are copies of those libraries
available.  Since they are GPL'ed, you can put them onto your download
site.
