I thought that was the topic. Integer, or other "native" representation VS 
rational representation.

By the rules of commerce, it virtually must be. Certainly within one ledger, 
it will be. No accountant in his right mind would accept ($ 8 3/4) in the 
same ledger with ($1.99)

There is no question of the "space" part of it. You are wasting space by 
storing duplicate information.
