yes, and no, we've tried to make gnucash out of distinct pieces,
and that's what helped you.  The goal was always to have those, 
and to have a set of shared libs that implement various functions.
But the way those distinct pieces were wrapped into scheme-wrapped 
shared-libs is what didn't work out.
