I may go looking for this one myself to propose a patch... (scary thought)

When I import new stock purchases, and gnucash asks me to define a new account for the stock, gnucash partially fills in the new account dialog. It puts something like: 'new stock account for"WHATEVER THE COMMODITY DESCRIPTION IS"' in the account name.

Since the docs specifically suggest using the ticker symbol as the stock account name, wouldn't it be reasonable to fill the account name with the ticker symbol from the commodity, and just duplicate the commodity description in the account description, leaving out the "new stock account for"?
