I think this is just a "warning", acutally, and not the root cause of the problem. (I note that you probably don't want to be the root user while using any application-level software, but you might have a good reason; I also note that the recognized file-name suffixes for gnucash are '.gnc', '.gnucash' and '.xac'; '.gch' will work fine, GnuCash doesn't care, but other apps might.) > Since both files throw the same error but only one loads, there must be > some other issue causing the one file not to load.
