You're probably using Fink or MacPorts for your Gnucash-on-X11, and
they both take care of the dbus setup for you by providing a full
Linux-like environment. That's probably equally true of MacPorts
built with quartz.
I was thinking of the quartz variant of the MacPorts build, not your
stand alone bundle. However I'm still a little surprised, I thought
that the dbus client would launch the dbus session server if necessary.
However, dbus is complicated enough that nothing about it surprises me
too much.
