Hi, When I use the default GnuCash 2.2.9 under ubuntu 10.04, I found many strings are translated correctly, and for many of them, I just fixed the translation in the recent commit, I was so surprised that ubuntu catch my translation so fast. However, when I exam deeper, I found it is different with my translation. So, I realize it is not my translation. The wrong translation I just fixed, had been fixed before, by Ruo Luo. So, I checked the subversion and maillist to see what is going wrong.
It happens in following sequence: 2009-01-25: Wang Binbin's <[email protected]> translation posted to the maillist, and it's committed to /branches/2.2/po 2009-02-19: Roy Luo <[email protected]> post his translation to the maillist, and it's committed to /branches/2.2/po 2009-04-11: Translations in /branches/2.2/po are copied to /trunk/po 2009-07-24: gnucash-2.3.2.pot was posted to TranslationProject, however, translation for zh_CN.po is 0%. So, translator didn't get the lastest .po in SVN. And even worse, the Translation Project use the previous po file, which is for 1.7.2, to generate the new po file for 2.3.2 or later. 2010-01-13: Aron Xu <[email protected]> helped zongyaotang (AT) ccoss.com.cn submit the zh_CN translation for GnuCash 2.3.8 to TranslationProject. I found the Roy Luo's name, but definitely, translator tried to merge the po in trunk and po in TranslationProject, and got problem here. So, after merge, most translation of Ruo Luo were lost. 2010-01-14: An updated translation in TranslationProject are copied to /trunk/po So, when I was doing my translation, some of them are actually have been fixed before. It's translator's mistake operation about merging. However, it could be avoided by update the po files in TranslationProject from the trunk. So, for each time upload new version of .pot to TP, the po files should be also updated to new version and uploaded to TP. And for each time, TP update their translation, the translation should be committed to trunk. It's bidirectional operation to make them synchronized. Otherwise, this kind of mistakes may be raised. -- Regards Tao Wang _______________________________________________ gnucash-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-devel
