Will this method interfere with the stable version of gnucash I am
already
running?
Yes, it will overwrite your stable version. So if you want to keep them
seperate, you shouldn't create the installer.

I did that and got the following errors
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------- Admin@SHAMMAH /p/soft/gnucash/inst/bin
$ gnucash-launcher.cmd
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: @echo: command not found
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: setlocal: command not
found
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: fg: no job control
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: fg: no job control
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: fg: no job control
/P/soft/gnucash/inst/bin/gnucash-launcher.cmd: fg: no job control

-------- What do I do now?
I forgot to tell you that gnucash-launcher.cmd is meant to be run from a
Windows command prompt, not an Msys shell.
Geert
A great big thank you to Geert.
How do I go about updating
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Q:_Is_it_possible_to_compile_GnuCash_on_Windows.3F
with the above information?
Yours Sincerely
