Yeah, but this doesn't have to be costly: For our purposes, the free (as in
beer) "Express" editions of MS Visual Studio are just fine. Prefer the 2012 or
2013 variant over any older version. You still need a MS Windows OS, though.
IIRC for those versions it needs to be Vista or later, and for 2013 might be
Win7 or later.
What would the advantage be in compiling with MSVC ?
