For a long time now GnuCash has got a windows build server that packages
development
snapshots of gnucash into an easy to use Windows installer every night. For
those who didn't
know this, these installers can be found here [1] and here [2]. These
installers allow Windows
users to test fixes or new features before they are officially released,
without the need to build
GnuCash from scratch.

The idea behind this is that building GnuCash from scratch on Windows is, eh,
challenging so
providing these packages lowers the barrier for others to run tests and provide
feedback.

It occurred to me that the same goes for other platforms. Not everybody is
comfortable with
building packages from scratch even on linux.

So I set out to provide similar packages for other platforms. To make it
easier on myself I chose
to try this first on my own platform of choice: Fedora.

And as of yesterday this system is in place: from now on you can install
nightly generated
gnucash and gnucash-docs rpm packages from Fedora's Copr infrastructure [3],
[4].

Instructions on how to use this should be found on the Fedora Copr's pages.

The Fedora Copr infrastructure allows me to build the same packages for
Centos/RHEL as well. I
have enabled this for my gnucash-maint copr repository (Centos/RHEL 7 only).
For the gnucash-
master repository this was not possible because that distro's boost library is
too old. So no
gnucash-master packages on Centos/RHEL for now.

Hopefully this is useful to some of you. Please let me know if you experience
any issues.

Regards,

Geert
