Hi, As many of you noticed, GnuCash email, wiki, and bugzilla were all down for several hours today. TL;DR: There was a power outage that took longer than expected to return. Power is now back and everything should be back up and running.
Long Version: At around 9:50am a tree fell in my neighborhood and pulled down some power lines. This caused a power blip and my house, but the power remained on. This didn't affect anything (except me having to reset my oven clock). At 10:30 I left the house to take my son to a class, but then shortly thereafter (10:39) the power company realized that they needed to shut down power to the area. At the time they said power would be restored at 12:30, so I didn't think anything of it. My UPS died around 12:45, as far as I can tell. I'm not sure why it died so quickly -- it used to last more like 4 hours rather than 2. I replaced a bunch of HDDs in a server, so perhaps they are more power-hungry than the previous set? Still it lasted more than the expected two hour outage. Apparently, at some point during the outage period they realized that the fallen tree had broken a pole, and the pole needed to be replaced. It took some time, but the broken pole was removed and the new pole installed around 4:30. Power was then restored at 6:15, and the servers all came up on their own. As of now (7:15) all services should be up and running. If you notice anything, please let me know! I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused (and my being offline when the power went out didn't help). Thanks! -derek -- Derek Atkins 617-623-3745 de...@ihtfp.com www.ihtfp.com Computer and Internet Security Consultant _______________________________________________ gnucash-devel mailing list gnucash-devel@gnucash.org https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-devel
