I don't think it should be the default; one thing that people like, I believe, is for application data files to be visible to them. I think that in certain applications [custom and small-business], it might be the default ... but for the "freenix public" distributions, I think the XML should be the default. Of course, changing between the two should be just a few clicks away. | Over time I'd like to remove the XML export | capability. Obviously we'll need to retain the XML import capability. I think there's enough call to not remove [read: always have] the XML backend [perhaps with some improvements for back-/foreward compatibilty, as discussed]; I'd rather have it, myself... and I'd rather have it than some other ascii/transparent format. When you say "over time", do you mean "by 1.8" or at some point later? ...jsled -- http://www.asynchronous.org - $a=jsled; $b=asynchronous.org; echo ${a}@${b}; jabber:[EMAIL PROTECTED], ICQ:4983267, {AIM,YIM}:joshsled _______________________________________________ gnucash-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.gnucash.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-devel
