Well. I can confirm your observation with gnucash-1.6.8, regardless of the LANG setting. However, with the new current gnucash-CVS/1.7.5, this does not happen anymore. So I'd just say that this bug silently went away with the new version. Since it is probably difficult to track down this bug in 1.6, probably nobodoy is going to fix it for the 1.6 series.
