This is more a question of if there is a need at this stage for a new release. My feeling is that as we are now in a stable series it is better to wait until either; a) An urgent bugfix requires a release, this would be a fix for problems that could cause data corruption or something similar, or b) Two or more months have gone by and we wish to bring the current release up to date with all the bugfixes in CVS up till then. When I started doing releases near the end of the 1.6 series GnuCash was so stable as to only require a release after about 6 months had gone by! I know we need to do one more often at this stage of 1.8 but I still feel it would be better to accumulate a series of bugfixes in a release. What do the developers want to do? Do you think there is a need for a new release now?
