OK, last word, and no more: I am daydreaming about adding several important features to QOF (http://qof.sourceforge.net), most important is the ability to (nearly) automatically convert C objects to sql and back. So far, this is a daydream, I haven't even updated the qof web-page to talk about it. I think I might be crazy to contemplate this, as there are many interesting comp-sci issues here. C is not a language that is suited to this sort of thing. (qof needs to reinvent the concept of 'object introspection' and 'object factory' from scratch). None-the-less, despite it being crazy, it seems like something the world needs, and so I hope to prusue it, although probably at a very very very slow pace. Discussion invited, with the understanding that its all hypothectical. (back when KDE was the 'Kool Desktop Environment' I thought it was terribly hypothetical until magically all this code came out of nowhere ... and then again, the hypothetical gnome become very real very fast ... ) --linas -- pub 1024D/01045933 2001-02-01 Linas Vepstas (Labas!) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> PGP Key fingerprint = 8305 2521 6000 0B5E 8984 3F54 64A9 9A82 0104 5933 _______________________________________________ gnucash-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.gnucash.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-devel
