As I was the one who posted 1.8.5 to the gentoo database, I'll comment
on this. I don't believe there is any need to maintain a gentoo ebuild
in gnucash itself. Its really just a duplication of effort and it very
well maintained within gentoo itself. Gentoo is never more than a few
days behind a release usually, the only reason 1.8.5 didn't go out the
week it was released was because I asked it to be held back as I knew I
would be releasing an updated docs tarball the next sunday. My final
thought, ebuild in gnucash, no need.
