I've seen two comments so far from Derek which suggest that Guile is going the way of 
the dinosaur, at least in GnuCash.

These statements generated no controversy on the list, so I assume they're generally 
accepted. If the maintainers are more interested in writing (and accepting patches) in 
C, that's fine, I'd just like to know.

I started (slowly) learning Guile so that I can customise or possibly even contribute 
to GnuCash. Should I bother?
