Printing checks.

Is anyone working on printing checks?     My idea on this is you enter
the x and y coordinated for the date, address, amount text, amount
number, payee and memo to build the postscript file.  I have already
wrote some simple postscript code which will work.  I am not sure where
to start on the gnucash interface any help/direction will be greatful.
