Hi I am helping out with the docs for 1.5x and was wondering if anybody knew why the tag <article> was used instead of <chapter> for the manual. Its is legal to use <article> in this way, however most docbook authors use <chapter> for <book> and use <article> in stand alone documents. If no one has any objections I would suggest converting to <chapter>. We also should at some stage convert all the tags to lower case so that it can be easily converted to docbook-xml when that becomes the norm for docs. Most other doc projects as far as I know are planning to convert their docs to xml.
