My wife, Carol Champagne, wrote quite a bit of documentation a while back for GnuCash, but it's not finished. Even if it is unfinished, it includes a fairly comprehensive table of contents that organizes the content for a complete book on Gnucash, and that looks like it would be pretty useful. We've uploaded the files for her to the following directory:
http://www.io.com/~carol/gnucash Please feel free to use these files as part of the GnuCash documentation. They are written for a version of the code from the 1.5 series, so they might be out of date on some topics, but most of the concepts should still apply. The files are still are only in text format, not sgml or html. Right now Carol stays pretty busy with our 6 week old baby, so she won't have a lot of time to finish this documentation. Later when she can actually sleep for more than a few minutes at a time, she might be able to continue working on this some more if that would be helpful. Is anyone interested in helping to clean up these files and make use of them? Does anyone have information on how to note the copyright for documentation like this? I know how it is done for GPL code, but I'm not sure how to release documentation under a free license. Thanks.
