On the #1, I was about to suggest it might be an issue only on Windows, but I see the labels don’t show up in my Ubuntu installation either.
They do appear on my Mac though, and I don’t see anyway to toggle them. Both are 2.6.19 so this isn’t something new in the 2.7 series.
