From memory the description column is a special case. I usually get all
my other columns just the width I want them and if everything is too
wide I then drag the RIGHT HAND end of the Description column back to
the left a bit and let it go - it then adjusts to fill the available space.
Yes, I tried that quite a few times, and it always went back to its
previous width. That's why I was stuck.
I restarted GC, just in case, but it always did that.
