Drat. We hoped we’d nailed all of those problems in 3.1.

Please open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and run
  /Applications/Gnucash.app/Contents/MacOS/Gnucash --debug --extra
After you quit it, please open a bug report at 
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GnuCash 
<https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GnuCash> and attach the trace
