Oh, and if ‘font-family: Arial Bold;’ works, but ‘font-weight: bold;’ on the regular Arial font does not, then ‘font-weight: bold;’ is likely not working at all.
‘Arial Bold’ is it’s own distinct font. (though the original ‘Arial’ can be made to look bold in most applications. There are several other variants of Arial as well.) Most web browsers will first try to use a natural bold variant if found before doing their own font weighting, but Gtk may not be getting either of these methods right.
