I have to prepare a monthly report to my local bowling club detailing income

about this please.

If this was already answered, pardon me.

The usual name of this report depends on the type of entity for which the books are kept (different for different types of entities). For a club/organization this report would normally be called "statement of revenues and expenses" but in terms of the name in gnucash look for the" Income Statement".

This report would always be for an interval between two dates Gnucash can't read your mind, so each time you will need to set the start and end date. What I suggest is that you (first) simply tell the report to run, then when it is open, use Edit => report options to see ALL of the things you can specify. You can first set the dates, but then play around with other options till the report is to your liking. Those OTHER things you will probably choose to leave unchanged once you find the ones you prefer, but you will be setting start date and end date each time you run the report for a different month.
