FWIW in the 4.x series it is planned to allow a book-specific accounting-period, so, one can select (e.g. 30-June for Australia, 5-April for UK, or another arbitrary date) an eofy date, and reports should be able to pick 'current-FY' or 'previous-FY' as report dates...
