Peter,

Indeed, you can have a negative account balance in a register. But any 
transaction and splits you enter will always be positive as the amounts will 
just flip columns to make that so. (a negative credit is a positive debit, and 
a negative debit is a positive credit)

My apologies for the note on not ’seeing red’ as I forgot that was a specific 
preference, and I also use a custom CSS file so I never see red negative 
numbers anyway even with the preference set. Apologies for the noise.
