If you really need to see monthly totals on the Accounts tab, then yes. But as noted in the other thread on reports, you could keep a multi-column report open with all months in their own columns. You don’t have to close reports at any time. You can just keep them open and refresh as needed. If you leave reports open when you close GnuCash, they will re-open on their own, with refreshed data.
