On Debian 10 I am testing the latest flatpak installation. It works, but I
don't see my saved reports now.
I was previously syncing the directory *~/.local/share/gnucash* between
installations by putting an alias there that pointed to a dropbox-like
folder that was synced between machines and operating systems.
I'm doing something similiar (using TeamDrive) to keep my installations
synchronized.
I learned that it is not enough to have the gnucash file on a share but
several folders need to be kept identical for reports, online banking
setup etc.
I have written a shell script to create and update the links from my
home dir to the shared drive. In case someone is interessed just let me
know.
Is there an equivalent directory for the flatpak version, and where would
that be?
This may differ from distribution to distribution. However on my Fedora 31 system, the
equivalent of ~/.local/share/gnucash for flatpak is
~/.var/app/org.gnucash.GnuCash/data/gnucash
Similarly ~/.local/config/gnucash is remapped to
~/.var/app/org.gnucash.GnuCash/config/gnucash
I have added these two locations to our Configuration Locations wiki page now.
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations
This wiki page is looking quite complex. Currently I'm sharing the
following folders from my home dir:
".aqbanking" ".gnucash" ".abtransfers" ".local/share/gnucash"
".gconf/apps/gnucash" ".config/gnucash"
Does that look right for a standard Linux installation (without flatpak)
or am I missing something?
Thank you.
Regards,
Manfred
