I can't speak to 3.11 because I've long moved on, but on 4.2, this issue doesn't appear to exist.

I just ran this chart and for example, my Gifts account which has multiple transactions this month shows the same total as my Income Statement (P&L).

This was using the default options.

Adrien

Hello,

New GnuCash user here. My income/expense bar chart reports are giving
incorrect numbers. In particular, if there are multiple transactions in the
same category (e.g., 2 "salary" transactions or 2 "Expenses:Books"
transactions) within the same month, only one is counted. For example, £1
for books on 20/12 and £2 for books on 21/12, but only £1 total shows up
under books in the Expense Chart ("Expense Over Time"). The transaction
that takes priority is the one that was entered first. The same is true for
the Income Chart. If you change Options > General > Step size to "week"
instead of "month", now both transactions appear but in different weeks
(even they are on the same day).

I'm using 3.11 because I'm running Mac OS 10.12. But this seems like such a
major problem that it can't possibly be a bug that was only recently fixed.
I think I must have done something wrong. I tried deleting and
re-installing GnuCash but maybe there are hidden preference files that I
don't know about. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Is there some
obvious thing I missed in the manual?
