The error you received does not sound like a pdf or GNU-cash issue. It sounds like a WINDOWS or browser error. So let's try just one more thing (and hopefully this does it):
Run your report in GNU-Cash Do print (instead of export) Choose MS Print to PDF Save the file. Now just to be safe - let's close GNU-Cash so that your computer does not think that GNU-Cash still has it "clamps" on it. Find the file that you saved (probably in My documents). Double click and see if Adobe opens it open now.
