Where do you want to see the present balance? If you have the account register open you can see the present balance in the bottom left corner of the register next to the future balance, cleared balance, reconciled balance and projected minimum balances. You can run various reports to get many account balances on one page. If, for some reason you want to temporarily hide future transactions in a single account you can click View > Filter by > and choose to hide dates after today...
