Do you use GST? GST doubles the number of transactions and is only
automated in business (accrual) accounting. This is demonstrated in a
recent example:

I don't use the business accounting features but at first glance terms like
invoice and payments are confusing as the same invoice paid by one party is
collected by another and cash accounting has no held accounts (A/R). I
noticed in Edit, Preferences, Business, Bills - option for Process
payments on posting. Would this option effectively convert Income/Expense
to a cash accounting system, effectively allowing the automated GST to be
used for cash accounting?

As Derek points out, two decades shows GnuCash is not the right software if
you need this feature.
