The "Account Type" dropdown is at the bottom left of the "New Account" window, which I think is the one you showed (part of) in your original message. You will probably need to scroll down to find the entry for "Stock". You need to do this before clicking "Select", and then you will get a "Select security" window instead of "Select currency".
