The register width on Windows are in: C:\Users\#####\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash\books
Just find your "book" which will be in the format MyBook.gcm You can change the numbers for date_width, num_width, etc. You actually change everything *but* the description field, which takes up the rest of the available width.
