Orinth, I am assuming that you are using a computer that has a Windows 10 or 11 operating system. GnuCash works somewhat like Word or LibreOffice. You create one data file. You need to save it with a unique name in a subfolder under your user data folder. It will have all the accounts that the GnuCash setup assistant provides when you select the best account tree for your use. Then you may add some accounts and/or rename some. Save it again. Now you can quit GnuCash and the next time you start GnuCash it will open that same data file.
In Linux it works in a similar way, but on a Mac it is a little different, but someone else can describe the difference.
