I think you will find it very helpful when getting started. I'm not sure how the documentation gets installed in Windows. Maybe it's an installation option? Also, while it is apparent you are able to communicate quite clearly and understandably in English, the GnuCash application is available in dozens of languages, and the documentation as well as support email lists and wiki pages are available in other languages, including German. It's possible some of the localized information would provide guidance on accounting customs relevant to you. https://gnucash.org/ Several language choices are visible across the top of the gnucash.org web page, including German. For example here is a link to the German translation of the website: https://gnucash.org/docs.phtml?lang=de_DE On the Documentation page linked above you will see you can read or download the GnuCash Manual in English, German, Italian and Portuguese, and the "Course and Concepts" documentation in all those languages plus Chinese and Japanese. Below you will see a link to the GnuCash wiki (in English) listing the different email lists: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists#Existing_Lists And here's a link to the wiki in German jumping to the section with guidance about using the German mailing list: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/De/Feedback#Auf_der_Mailingliste NOTE I am not suggesting you NEED to go somewhere else for support because you are obviously comfortable with English. However you might find other help useful, too. Again I strongly recommend reading the GnuCash documentation (in any language) as a new user. It answers a lot of common questions.
