Thank you Martin. That is just about perfect and I think it is probably close 
enough for me.


There are two things that would be really nice to have but I can live without 
them.


1. Display dates along X axis instead of numbers.


2. Select more than one fund or stock. But the workaround is to have one report 
per stock.

you can use price scatterplot


select Reports > Assets & Liabilities > Price Scatterplot


Now select options from menu bar


on general tab select the dates you require


on price tab select Price of Commodity 


on Namespace select the security you wish to report on then select the fund or 
stock, 
select price source as price database > Apply, OK
