Hi Bob

Welcome to the wonderful (and sometimes slightly confusing) world of GnuCash!

Under "No accounts selected", click on "Edit report options"

This will open a new window with multiple Tabs at the top - click on the "Accounts" Tab.

Click on the little triangle beside "Assets" in the "Accounts" panel.
Keep clicking these little triangles until you see your Checking Account.
Click on its name - it should show as highlighted.

Next, click on the "General" Tab and review or modify the Start Date and End Date.

Finally, click on "OK" in the bottom right corner.

Sit back and relax as GnuCash shows you all the transactions in that account for the selected date range.

Alternative method for viewing transactions in a *single* account:
(1) From the Chart of Accounts home page, open the Account as normal.
(2) From the Reports menu, choose "Accounts Report".

Hope this helps.

Regards

Geoff
