I think Larry did not change the Windows Locale setting of his PC,
rather he changed the GnuCash "Default Currency" setting from "Locale"
(which was USD) to "Choose" (where he chose CAD). So I don't think there
is any need to reboot.

I meant reboot the computer. While I am not an expert on windows, over the
years it seems that whenever I made a significant change to the OS I needed
to reboot. This was in addition to the usual (in Windows) need to reboot
every few days maximum to clear out whatever junk seems to accumulate.

David,
Since everything seems to be working, albeit I still have the $C at the
end of the right hand row, I don't think I will try to change anything.
However, for future reference, do you mean reboot the computer or relaunch
GnuCash?
TIA,
Larry

IIRC you need to reboot after changing the Locale.

Hi,
Thanks to everyone for their insights. I was in error when I said that I
had reset it to Locale/Canadian$. When I set it to Locale it still stayed
at US$. We live close to the US border so maybe it thinks we are in the
US.
I changed it to Choose/CAN$ and it now populates the monthly columns. It
still shows $C to the right in the yearly totals.
Thanks again,
Larry
